Enjoy a true piece of Danish architectural history reimagined in glossy glazed ceramic through Kähler’s unique design philosophy shaped by tradition. Urbania Tribute Botanical Garden is a detailed and poetic lighthouse inspired by the iconic Palm House in Copenhagen’s Botanical Garden. The impressive cast-iron and glass structure was designed by city architect Peter Christian Bønecke and realised with generous support from brewer J.C. Jacobsen. Built between 1872 and 1874, the Palm House remains a central and atmospheric feature of the garden – a tropical oasis in the heart of the capital and a cherished part of Danish cultural heritage. This historic building is now immortalised as one of the iconic lighthouses in Kähler’s popular Urbania series, designed by Mette Bache and Barbara Bendix Becker. The lighthouse stands 16.5 cm tall, and with each window carefully carved by hand, you always get a stylish yet cosy silhouette, where the flickering glow of the tealight is reflected in the crisp white ceramic of the Urbania lighthouse, casting playful clusters of light and shadow around it.
