CARE GUIDE MARBLE

Introduction and characteristics

Marble is a natural stone prized for its timeless beauty, unique patterns. Its porous surface gives it character but also requires a little extra care to maintain its elegant appearance. As a natural material, marble is inherently unique—subtle variations in colour and pattern are part of its charm, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike.

General Care

To keep the marble in excellent condition, regular cleaning and prompt attention to spills are essential. Dust the surface regularly with a soft cloth to remove dirt. For a deeper clean, gently wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth. If necessary, add pH-neutral soap, but be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue. Make sure the marble is completely dry afterwards. As marble is a porous material, it’s important not to let any liquids, including water, dry on the surface. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, dusting sprays, furniture polish, or harsh chemicals that could damage the stone. Additionally, as a natural stone, marble is sensitive to moisture and acidic substances. Protect it from spills, especially from colored liquids like wine, ketchup, coffee, or fruit juice, as well as acidic liquids like juice or vinegar. Always wipe spills off immediately to prevent staining or discoloration.
