Introduction and characteristics
Leather is a natural material that reflects its environment, with temperature, moisture, and light all influencing its appearance and patina over time. To preserve its beauty for generations, proper care is essential.
General Care
Regularly dust the leather with a soft, dry cloth, and clean it monthly using a mild soap solution (never detergent) and water with a lint-free cloth. This removes surface dust and replenishes the leather’s moisture content. Allow the surface to dry naturally, as leather can be more delicate while still damp. For spills, dab immediately with a soft cloth and, if necessary, wipe gently with a damp cloth. For stubborn stains, we recommend using our leather cleaner. Always adhere to the cleaning products description and instruction and test any method on a hidden area first to ensure it won’t harm the leather. Avoid polishes, conditioners, or cleaning products not specifically designed for leather, as they can cause damage. To ensure longevity, we recommend treating the leather with a leather impregnating spray before use and reapply it according to the instruction on the spray. Protect your leather from direct sunlight and heat sources, which can dry it out and lead to cracking. Handle it with care to avoid damage from sharp objects. For surface scratches, a soft chamois cloth or your finger can often buff them out gently. For significant issues, consult a leather specialist to ensure your item remains in excellent condition.
