Aerin Lauder – Living with Flowers

For Aerin Lauder, flowers are more than just decorative accents – they reflect her entire approach to life. In her book Living with Flowers, she shows how to blend floral beauty with interior design. “Flowers make me happy,” she writes. A fragrant bouquet by the bed, a sprig of lilac on the mantelpiece, or an orchid in the bathroom: “The flowers that give you the most pleasure are the ones you consciously choose for yourself.”

Aerin favors a monochromatic color palette. White is her favorite – elegant, simple, and endlessly versatile. Her go-to accent? Fresh green, for a calming yet dimensional contrast. Still, she enjoys experimenting: “You can be bold, take risks, and have fun.”

Her style mantra: many small arrangements rather than one big one. A dining table should feel relaxed and welcoming – with several glass or ceramic vases of varying heights. The same goes for consoles, windowsills, and more.
We love flowers in their natural setting! Rattan and light-colored woods bring lightness and structure – both indoors and out. The perfect pieces to match the look: the RATTAN decorative bowl and the ESEB armchair.

A floral arrangement doesn’t have to end in a vase. Floral-print wallpaper, botanical fabrics, or tableware with delicate patterns add warmth and depth to any space. As Aerin Lauder puts it: “Floral motifs in various forms – wallpaper, fabrics, tableware – create a room that is multi-layered, elegant, and full of life.”
